Everything comes wrapped in plastic these days. Yes we use reusable grocery bags, and reusable water bottles...but those come wrapped in plastic. Buying brown paper bags and they come wrapped in plastic. There is just no way around it. I do my best to reuse whenever possible. When I get something with a ziploc slide on the plastic bag that it comes in: I reuse it for my Crochet products. The bag keeps my items safe for storage and travel.
We all love the convienance of a gift bag but they get tossed like wrapping. Many keep the bag but toss the tissue paper. I keep it all and reuse it all. Sometimes kids get exited and a little overzealous in unwrapping. However, I find that more often than not, everything is perfectly fine and reusable. I might be starting to sound like a hoarder. I find that i run through them almost as fast I obtain them though.
Know that I am mindful about my packaging. I know that many people want their items wrapped up pretty and unique for their customers. I'm crafty so I get it! I take extra effort into carefully removing, storing and reusing my packaging. I hope that the my crochet work is as pretty and unique as possible to make up for my sustainable packaging.
